The children were given small white pumpkins to explore using their senses.  The children were invited to explore the different pumpkins with a variety of materials such as crayons, markers, and paint.  When given these materials to explore the children seemed to prefer the paint to the other materials.  This tactile exploration was made evident as  the children not only used the paint brush but also their hands as tools in their art creations.  The children used their hands to in multiple motions/actions such as squeezing, feeling, and grasping.
